My free play for tonight is from the American League, where I like the Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles to go over the posted number.
The Athletics hand the ball to Ross Stripling, who is 0-5 with a 5.34 ERA in as many starts. And on the road, he's 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA, allowing nine runs on 16 hits over 11 innings of labor.
He's facing one of the most lethal offenses in the league, and the Orioles are returning home from a trip that ran through Kansas City and Anaheim.
During an 8-2 win streak, the O's are hitting .291 and scoring 6.0 runs per game. I can see them getting us our total on their own.
So why not bet the Orioles? I'm not laying -270 and I'm not laying juice with a run line. Both are sucker plays. So, instead, I like this one to go over.
