I've hit nine of my last 11 NHL releases after hitting Carolina (-1', +130) in a home win over New Jersey in Game 1 of the opening round.

My $10 bettors are up more than $4K with my last 11 plays, and tonight I'm in the series opener between the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

The defending Stanley Cup champs will look to strike first, while the Bolts will be looking to make a statement. I have the value play in this series opener.

Hunter Yount's Rating System

With a 100 Dime Max Wager, my ratings and personal bankroll allocations are easy to figure out on a proportional 5 dime incremental scale.

The amount that you bet is obviously determined on the number of dollars you've allocated to your bankroll for a given day.

That's a real simple money management system for anyone to follow.

Will I sometimes go higher than a 100 Dime release. If I'm on a roll and have built up the bankroll and love a game, absolutely I will.

Who Is Hunter Yount?

Grew up in Windsor, Ontario. I don't remember it, but my Dad says he took me on the ice for the first time when I was 2 1/2. Like many kids growing up in Canada started "playing" in what we call Tyke or Mite hockey when I was 6 and kept playing all the way through high school. Played right wing. Still lace up the skates in two rec leagues even now because once a player, always a player.

Most amazing thing about my playing career? Easy. Still have all my real teeth. If you haven't played, you have no idea how rare that is. Lots of stitches, more than a few scars, a couple of concussions, but all my pearly whites are intact.

Being across the river from Detroit, naturally I'm a life-long Red Wings fan. You'd be surprised, though, there are quite a few Maple Leafs fans in this area, too.

Started handicapping hockey seriously when I was 19. It's a sport where you have to know the league and its players to make money.

So many games every damn day, but you won't find me releasing a play unless I love a game.
Minnesota at VEGAS (-1', +115)

My free play for tonight is the Vegas Golden Knights over the Minnesota Wild, and we're playing the home team on the puck line.

Vegas got the lucky puck line win on Sunday, call it a Miracle on Easter, when Brett Howden's shot crossed the goal line with less than a second remaining to make it 4-2.

Tonight the Knights won't need the luck. The talent this team has far outweighs Minnesota, as the Knights can roll four lines comfortably, while the Wild has one line that is effective. And when Vegas' fourth line can threaten Minnesota's top line, that's a problem.

With how we're seeing some of these games play out over the first few days of the postseason, Vegas is going to respond in Game 2, before the series heads to the Twin Cities, with a blowout win.

Jack Eichel and Mark Stone had primo chances in the series opener, and simply couldn't fit the gaps. Tonight I think we're going to see Vegas' stars, and its depth, open things up and get balanced offense from all four lines in what could be a five-goal margin when all said and done.
